Join us for a fun and creative parent (or adult) - child clay class where you’ll both experience the art of hand-building with clay! Together, you’ll craft unique pieces using a variety of techniques, while learning the basics of ceramics in a relaxed, hands-on environment. This class is split into two sessions, and both are essential for completing your projects. The all-inclusive fee covers both dates and all the supplies you’ll need for each of you to complete your own projects. Come unleash your creativity and make lasting memories as you work with clay!
Pre-Registration is required. Minimum must be met 1 week prior to event date. Priced per adult/child combo. Additional family members may be added on for an additional fee.
Join our instructor, Stanette Amy – the granddaughter of an Ojibwe medicine woman, Keewaydinoquay, to learn traditional, herbal medicine and philosophy. Keewaydinoquay was apprenticed to her own herbal teacher in Northern Michigan. She also attended the University of Michigan and did her PhD work in Ethnobotany (the use of plants by indigenous peoples) and taught at the universities of Michigan and Wisconsin. Stanette is grateful for the nearly 40 years of training she received from her grandmother and is excited to share her knowledge with you! Each class will receive a unique take home item based on that classes lesson.

We'll dive into an informative session about owls and then venture on a hike through the trails at the Williams Nature and Historical Learning Center. See if you can catch a glimpse or hear the hoots of these majestic creatures in their natural habitat!

Little Chefs slice, dice and stir their way to delicious treats. ALong the way they will learn how to safely prepare and handle food and cook it to perfection. Parents must be in attendance. Come out and see the Robert Williams Nature & Historical Learning Center hiking trails lit up in the winter, during the Twilight Trail. Start preparing for Spring by creating your own living centerpiece. This class will begin with a quick introduction to terrariums and a "how to" create a terrarium – yours to take home at the end of the class. Then participants will be provided with all necessary supplies (including unique glass container, soil, live plants, and take-home sheet about continued care) to complete their very own terrarium to display proudly in your home.
